Roger Cook with his 'Essex Girl' clock.

Made in 1771 by Eleanor Harvey of Brentwood, one of the few femal clockmakers and probably the only one to have qualified in her own right, rather than inheriting her husband's business.

"I'm delighted with her", says Roger Cook, "and with the superb restoration job done by Rik Lowe. Not only did he restore her, he also found her for me. The job was on time and on estimate too... mind you, I'm still waiting for her white stilletos".
Mrs Lashalis
"We are so pleased with all the work you have done. It was so quick and efficient. Home visits were a great help and everything was done within estimate. All our clocks are ticking happily, so there is no excuse for being late.

Thank you."

As you would expect from someone with 20 years experience in the business, he literally knows clocks inside out, from antiques to modern and, for me, he refurbished wonderfully well and old clock of great sentimental value, restored it to pristine condition and it is currently chiming accurately and regularly now in a prominent position in our home. I was and am extremely grateful to him for his expertise and highly efficient service."

Richard Lowe of Somerset Clocks has just restored three, very different, beautiful antique clocks for us.

His knowledge, enthusiasm and attention to detail, a determination to restore and repair as the original craftsman had made the clock, is a delight.

An expert himself in the mechanism of the clocks, he acknowleges and uses specialists when required, to repair damage to dials and cases.
